I was responsible for overseeing the team running this project from ideation to execution. This included event scoping, bidding, and vendor management, media management, digital and print artwork development, communications efforts, and subsequent marketing of event details.
Large infrastructure projects in the U.S. have notoriously come at the expense of some of the most vulnerable populations. Learning from the past, we recognized this as an opportunity to make the Northeast Maglev project something different.
In response to some of the systemic barriers that have often prevented communities of color and women from building skills, wealth and sustainable independence, a plan was created to promote the value and development of regional, small, minority-owned, and woman-owned businesses by offering fair and competitive opportunities to bid and participate in building and operating the Superconducting Maglev.
Marketing the project as a transformative model for national infrastructure that positively and equitably advances local communities provided a message worthy of amplification.
With the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion plan created, I oversaw organization of the marketing endeavors to promote the plan.
Developed a landing page to outline the plan and solicit interest from small, minority, and women-owned businesses.
Promoted the plan with a media announcement event.
Oversaw media management and communications for the event.
Oversaw logistics and VIP attendees for the event.
